We believe in God, the Father, who created us, loves us and yearns to be in relationship with us.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son, who is God in the flesh, and who saves us through his life lived perfectly, and his death and resurrection.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, God’s presence and power in us and through us, both individually and corporately.
We believe in the Holy Scriptures, God’s word to us, speaking with God’s authority and truth… and directing us to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe in the church, the body of Christ, God’s means of ministry and witness in the world.
We believe in grace, God’s unconditional and infinite love for us all, and in the call for our response of trust in Jesus Christ as Savior, accepting into our lives his grace.
God’s grace and our response of faith is the beginning of a relationship that lasts for eternity and a life which grows in a deepening love for God and for others, expressed in worship, compassionate service and joyful giving and living.
We are also among many churches that use the Apostles’ Creed
to express our faith:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy catholic* church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.
* “holy catholic church” is a reference to the Christian church throughout the world and over the centuries.
