Basketball and Cheerleading

The Upward sports ministry at Bethany Presbyterian Church is open to boys and girls in K5 through 2nd grade. The registration cost is $90 per child, and includes shorts (basketball) or mock-turtleneck (cheerleading).

Registration BEGINS on October 1, 2016 and ENDS when Divisions Fill or by November 12, 2016

This amazing sports ministry has really grown and exceeded our expectations and limitations; therefore, we have decided to focus our program at Bethany Presbyterian Church on children in K5 through 2nd grade.

What is Upward?

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K5 through 6th grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.

• Provides an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities
• Establishes a one-hour practice and game each week
• Implements a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time
• Creates the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game
• Places emphasis on having fun and good sportsmanship, not on the scoreboard and standings

Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today’s sporting society. With Upward, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Upward is designed to reveal the winner in every child. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a Winner!
